The thing we most have noticed during this past year when so much was shut down is how much we really need human contact. Perhaps we did not notice it that plainly in the past because so much of our actions were on automatic pilot. We were used to getting together with people for dinners, or parties, concerts or sporting events just as the normal course of living, the same way as we would get up and go to work every morning.

Sympathetic Vibrations, Sympathetic Magic
So when most of those options were removed, we first were upset because we could not go places that we liked to go, but as time went on, what we recognized is that what we really missed was being close to other people. So now, as people are getting vaccines and the number of serious cases is in decline, we see movements toward re-opening and we are looking forward to resuming things we like to do with other people. I look forward to being able to go the Renaissance Fair again, Shakespeare Festival, concerts, ball games, dances, fireworks shows, and all those other wonderful things this summer. I enjoy the vibrations of those kinds of events.
Getting together with others is first on our list, then going to places and events is second. In other words, the lockdowns caused us to realize that socializing with other people is primary. We took it for granted in the past because we could. It is one thing to say that you can't go to a ball game or a concert tonight, but it is another to say you cannot go visit your family or your friends.
We also have become more aware of the vibrational and energetic realities of our actions. For example, many musicians have tried to keep their cash flow going by asking people to pay to watch performances on their computer. But the experience of being in the same room with musicians while they are playing opens up our senses in a whole different way when we feel the vibrations of the voices and instruments and we want to sing and dance along with them. These sympathetic vibrations give us another sense of aliveness, and this is not the same presence if we are watching on You Tube or Zoom.
Sympathetic vibrations are also what we feel when we are in a stadium, and suddenly thousands of people simultaneously are on their feet, cheering for their team and we hear the crack of the bat, the ball hitting the glove, while thousands of people are yelling and clapping. It is just not the same watching it on TV. You might have a great camera view, but there are not other people right next to you or around you who are responding.
It's the difference between watching a film of someone walking on the beach and swimming in the ocean. At best, it conjures up memories of how it felt to do that, but it is not like being there.
Sympathetic vibrations are also what we are feeling when we are in the same room with someone who is sharing a heartfelt conversation with us, laughing or crying, and being able to hug someone, sensing what they are trying to tell us because their breath is rapid and shallow, or slow and deep. It is the fragrance of the other person that we sense, the pitch of their voice, the blink of the eye, the connection we feel simply from being present.
How much is this part of our lives? Consider that the concept called Law of Attraction is all based on a principle called sympathetic magic. When we express gratitude for what we have received and what things are going well for us, we are signaling to spirit to align us with more of that vibration. Before Law of Attraction became a buzzword, everyone had heard of positive thinking. When we really like something and resonate with it, we are sending out a signal that we like this vibration and want more of it. Sympathetic vibrations are happening between us and the universe.
So this is a time when we have all become more aware of sympathetic vibrations and sympathetic magic.
During this time many of us have cleared things that we are no longer aligned with and made some new decisions about things that we want to align more closely with. When we are looking at activities, people and things and deciding what to do about them, notice how the sympathetic vibrations confirm for us our directions and choices. Tuning into these vibrations brings us more joy, peace and clarity.
Some vibrations are so powerful you can't miss them while others are more subtle and present themselves to us in quieter moments. As you raise your awareness of your vibrations, can you sense where your alignments are strongest, and where you might need to make adjustments?
There is a vibration in all of our connections and relationships, the music of the spheres, the music of life. Savor it.
I always love hearing from you, so if you feel like sending me a note, calling or coming to see me, please do!
Have a wonderful day!

All Kinds of Love
Valentine's Day is always emphasizing love in the sense of romance between couples, and of course, most of us want that and appreciate it. From a personal perspective, this addresses a core issue for all of us. And of course, some of us who are reading this right now are involved in a great relationship and some are not. And sometimes that personal romantic love relationship presents itself in our lives as a result of keeping our heart chakra open rather than buying memberships on dating web sites.
When we consider love in the bigger sense, the humanitarian sense, we create an aura of love all around us. How often do we express ourselves in loving terms to each other, whether or not we actually use the word love?
We may or may not be part of a hot couple right now, but we can always be expressing love toward all the people we interact with regularly.
I am sure that you have noticed what a good effect you stimulate when you tell people you appreciate them. We all appreciate that. One of the tricky things about the word love is that we think of it in terms of personal romantic relationships, but it is also love when we express appreciation for people we do business with, people who work in the stores where we shop, people who repair and maintain our cars, phones, computers, and homes. That includes delivery people, restaurant employees, artists, musicians and not just the health care workers in hospitals, but also the ones who work in the doctor and dentist offices where we go.
It is love when we act toward others with kindness, consideration, generosity, cooperation and empathy. When we stop for a moment and consider this relation we have with another person, it is love.
Keeping our heart chakra (heart center) open in this way keeps the door open to loving relationships of all kinds, and so our personal romances fit within that big aura of good relations with family, friends, co-workers, workout partners, study partners, business partners, clients, customers and all the other people who play a part in our lives.
Picture this. The aura of love that you radiate out when you are nurturing good relations with all other people is the exact pathway that opens the way for a personal romance to present itself. Getting along with other people in general opens the way for you to create personal relationships as part of what your aura of love attracts to you.
We can even shift our tones with people we disagree with so that rather than inflaming tensions, we can ease them with the way we express ourselves. That can leave the door open for a peaceful disagreement.
Pay attention to the entire flow of love and relationships in your life and notice how your existing relationship flourish and how people are drawn to you. What is happening is that these subtle flows of love energy are consistent because you express them to everyone, so when you are radiating love from your aura, it is possible for you to find your way into loving relationships with other people without using a dating app.
People are drawn to you on the waves of energy that you radiate out. How you conduct your every day affairs is one of the most powerful ways that leads to personal love affairs.
Notice how often you reach out to others and express yourself, and then notice what happens. We all want love, and the more we express love in our every day life, the more we attract it.
I always love hearing from you, so if you feel like sending me a note, calling or coming to see me, please do!
Have a wonderful day!

How do we plan for success?
Folklore has always been a rich source of reminders for us about how to succeed in life. Take a look at the traditions of this month. Together, when we look, we see an emphasis on partnerships of all kinds.
The reason Groundhog day emerged is that our ancestors were looking for signs that would tell them when it would be a good time for planting. Our ancestors who were farmers and gardeners would be sorting their seeds at this time of year so that when the ground is awakening from the winter slumber, which is other parts of the country would be Spring Equinox, and here it is more like Mother's Day, still, a thoughtful gardener spends some time thinking about what they want to plant this year and where they want to plant it.
That is us right now. Thinking ahead. Planning. Looking ahead to what we will nurture into existence.
Groundhog Day is also known as Candlemas because this was the time when people would bring their candles to the church to be blessed. Celtic people often called it Imbolc or Imbolg which is midway between the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox and Brigid who was a goddess in the Celtic tradition, later became a Christian saint. Brigid was a patron or home and family as well as arts and crafts plus blacksmithing and poetry.
So what are we celebrating about our home base, our family and friends, and what would we like to do or change in this area of our life?
Coming in next on the calendar is Valentine's Day which these days has evolved into a big sales event for chocolates, flowers and greeting cards. But way back before that, the holiday was called Lupercalia and it was a bawdy celebration of fertility and sexuality.
Now that aspect of relationship is always a major focus for people, because what we are going to do for a living and who we are going to love are two of the biggest questions we ever face.
How am I ever going to meet someone new in this environment where so much has been shut down? This is a question that many people are puzzling over. My best advice on that is to put more attention on the things you really want to do and with you letting your spirit guides know that you are open to someone new, you can still meet people. Remember that when you are doing things that you really like, that is one way to meet others who have common interests.
Do not forget that even long term relationships can have a fresh burst of growth and energy if we tend to them, so if that is your situation, think about ways that can work for you.
One thing that can happen on social media is that you can find yourself in a discussion group and meet a like minded person that way, which can lead to an in person meeting. Another simple way to meet people is to chat with people you meet while you are out walking. Every time I take the dogs for a walk, I meet someone, chat with someone. And shopping at a nursery or garden store is certainly a place to strike up a conversation with another gardener as you think about what you want to plant.
So you see, the energies at work at this time are perfectly aligned to create new energies in all ways. We are thinking ahead about what we want to be planting in the coming months and who we want to be with, focusing on two important subject areas that will always be pertinent. It is always pertinent because even those who are not gardening are still planting seeds. And even if you don't have a dog, taking a walk is something healthy that we can all do just for the sheer pleasure of good simple exercise and fresh air.
One of the good offshoots of the shutdowns that people took up in bigger numbers than ever are gardening, cooking and dogs. More people than ever are planting, record numbers of dogs got adapted and so these activities will keep on going and we can use these as ways to connect. After all, when people take up baking for a hobby, they like to offer you a taste and breaking bread with people has always been a way to make friends.
Plus the Chinese New Year kicks in right before Valentines Day, and that Ox energy will reward hard work and help us nurture relationships so all these different folk roots and traditions for this time of year are very supportive for these key actions we want to take in our lives.
So look at the flow of energies we are in. We can use this time well to plan ahead and engage in activities that nurture us. When the weather gets warmer then, we can spring into action with our plans to guide us.
The door is open to partnerships of all kinds. We have partners in our love life, our business, our food, through gardening and cooking, and walking the dog. This is the perfect time to set intentions and put them into motion, from thought to word to action.
The constant factor that you need to keep in mind is to focus on the result that you want to get at each of these occasions, and state clearly and powerfully your spirit guides your intentions and desired results. Each step of the way, you not only dare to dream, you also form a partnership with your spirit guides to get this done.
I always love hearing from you, so if you feel like sending me a note, calling or coming to see me, please do!
Have a wonderful day!
