Catching Fire

 

We feel the heat when we are burning with passion. Our desire is the fire in the belly that drives us toward our goals.

Fire works fast, spreading, accelerating, and that inspires us when we are working on a project and we find ourselves working faster while receiving more information. It feels like our hands cannot create as fast as our minds can come up with inspiring ideas, creative thoughts and fresh perspectives.

When we are on fire with ideas, the synapses in our brain are lighting each other up.

Then there are times when we feel a burning that helps to cleanse us. How many of us were inspired to start a new business because we were no longer satisfied with our old way of working?

You might know of someone who was told that they would never amount to anything, so they worked above and beyond until they achieved some level of greatness, proving the naysayers wrong. That would be a fire that cleanses, in the same way that a person who has had a significant health challenge is inspired to heal themselves and take action to turn the situation around. We cleanse ourselves of our old habits to create better ones.

When we are ready to open to our next level of development, the fire starter can come from anywhere. Looking at a work of art, listening to music, a suggestion from a friend, maybe something we picked up in conversation, or an idea from reading a news story or a book. Or maybe we were just taking a walk when the idea popped into our head.

Spirit loves to work with us when we are on fire. That is who feeds us more material once we get rolling. Our fire draws spirit to us.

It is our creativity that so attracts spirit. Our warmth, our radiance, brings them in close because they love the feeling of this aura.

The word inspire itself comes from in spirit. When we are working on something and spirit helps us keep it flowing, that is their way of helping us get it done.

We feel the alignment in our gut and our head. Even the things that we need to do that we don't know how to do, spirit helps us find a way.

That's why when we are really aligned with our goals and making great progress they say we are on a hot streak. We are hot because our engines are fired up.
