Recently, we have heard a lot about psychedelic assisted therapy, and it is producing good results for people who journey in this way.
This prompted me to think about another ancient form of journeying using sound as the stimulant.
There are those who love gong baths, but a more primal, powerful technique is journeying with the sound of drums and rattles.
Where psychedelic journey use recorded music as a pathway to the journey, ancient shamans used simple drum beats or the shaking of rattles to accompany the person on their journey.
Both methods have the journeyer share their visions and discuss them to help participants make sense of what they experience. I do not facilitate experiences that use mushrooms, ketamine or THC, but I do offer shamanic journeys using drums and rattles.
It seems like a good time to offer this again.
This type of inner work lets us see in the dark. When we lay down and close our eyes, the drumbeats form a stairway into other realms.
By following the beats, the journeyer follows a path brings them into contacts with spirit guides, animal totems, solutions to ideas or perception of past events that have blocked their progress. Illuminating these discoveries can change the course of a person's future.
Such journeying can also bring precognitive visions of the future. The rhythm of the sound drives a person to this place of recognition faster than night dreams, due to its intentional induction with primal sounds.
These kinds of journeys are often best experienced in groups where several people are launched onto their path simultaneously and subsequently find useful insights when they share their visions and get feedback.
If you have some friends who would like to join you on such an adventure, call me. I will be happy to bring my shamanic tools to you and create the session there.
Shamanic journeys can be marvelous experiences of discovery, done without any stimulant other than sound.
The photo above is the drum I use, which I made from elk hide, and the smudge is done with mugwort I grew. Mugwort is an excellent smudge to open psychic connections. Shamanic journeys might yield the flash of insight that lets you see differently, heals an old psychic wound, or reveals a new vision of your future.
Ask me any questions you want to ask. I am available for appointments days, evenings or weekends.
