Nuts & Honey

Nuts & Honey
Although squirrels are always scurrying around to gather nuts, this fellow was opportunistic enough to snag a container of nutella. Maybe he will find some crackers to go with it. He is obviously doing ok without a spoon.

This was just another one of those crazy little shots I got while out walking the dogs. Finding funny things like this in every day life keeps the buzz going. Find reasons to be happy and that is the buzz we attract. Happiness opens us up and draws people closer to us. Whether in a business or social setting, humor is the greatest ice breaker.

How so? Notice how when you can crack a joke or tell a funny story how people listen and then when they are laughing with us, we are helping to raise the vibration just as beautifully as love raises vibrations. I like stand up comedians both in person and on streaming services. I have always enjoyed authors and speakers who have a good sense of humor. Do you?

Keep your eyes and ears open to pick up on humor to lift your spirits. Be lighthearted in your conversations with people and notice how those little touches are appreciated and lubricates the flow between you.

If any of you feels like sharing any funny stories or jokes with me, please do.

I don't know if your mind works this way, but mine always remembers other jokes or funny stories once someone else tells one. So if you call and tell me one, you probably will get another one back.

Add some humor and sweetness to your life and these will lift your spirits!

This informal joke exchange will probably be like the squirrels burying their nuts and forgetting where they are. Then one day they come back dig a little and surprise themselves.

I always love hearing from you, so if you feel like sending me a note, calling or coming to see me, please do!

Have a wonderful day!

Try this at home: During this full Mead Moon, celebrate the sweetness in your life

Since medieval times, the full moon in June has been called the Mead Moon. This tradition arose because June was a popular month to get married and guests would pack them off to their month of celebrating with bottles of mead, a wine made from honey. If you are curious as to what that tastes like, most liquor stores carry a few brands made in Colorado.

This tradition is where we get the name honeymoon. Newly wed couples were expected to go off and enjoy each other's company and some sweet wine to get their marriage off to a good start.

Over time, honeymoon has been used to describe sweet peaceful periods between people.

So married or living together in any kind of partnership, people can still have a honeymoon, and when we have periods where all our relationships and businesses and other parts of our lives are all sweet and smooth flowing.

Why not take a moment today and think of all the sweet people and events in your life? I do it every day when I wake up and write in my gratitude journal and I feel that it is a factor that helps my life go well. Our spirit guides always enjoy it when we express gratitude.

Here is my suggestion. Right now as the moon is waxing until it goes full on Thursday, June 24, as you go out and gaze at the moon, taste the sweetness in your life as you gaze at her. Give some thought to the sweetest people and developments in your life right now, savor a sip of that sweetness, whether you take a drink of mead or a drink of water and think sweet thoughts. Offer a little toast to all those sweet connections and bathe in the moonlight. You can enjoy this honeymoon whether you are married or not.

Taking Wing

Taking Wing
You know that spirit always finds ways to communicate with us, and symbolic messages are both subtle and surprising, which then opens the way to bigger visions, fresh insights and deeper understanding.

I took these photos of blue herons while I was out walking the dogs.

Now you know how often you see something, but but by the time you get your phone out and open the camera, what you were going to take a picture of suddenly moved?

So I was pleasantly surprised that this heron waited until I got a good photo and then took off and the photos of him taking wing came out well too. So as I was thinking about writing this and asking my spirit guides what we should write about today, they responded. "Why do you think we helped you get great shots of the heron?"

So this is the message they send.

Herons stand at the gateway to the soul's journey. It signals psychic perception and reflection. It is also about patience and keen observation. The heron stands still until it spots its prey swimming in the water, then it acts swiftly and decisively. As a bird that signals the return of spring, it offers us encouragement.

All birds are related to the element of air, which in tarot goes with the suit of swords and mental clarity, wisdom and knowledge. The double edged swords depicted on the cards are a symbol for us to use one edge of the blade to sharpen our knowledge, gathering the data we need, so that when we apply the second edge, we are taking action to cut through the obstacles and move forward toward our goals. What the swords symbolize, the heron exemplifies.

We need to prioritize our goals, then move with deliberateness to act on our list of priorities, and that calm, precise flow of energies brings us great satisfaction and accomplishment.

As a fisher, the heron is intimately familiar with water, standing and observing movement and currents and sensing the the flow that will bring it within perfect range of what it needs to feed itself. It's sharp perceptions of its environment lets it perceive both the easily visible and the least visible. That is what we are doing when our psychic abilities are working.

Water is symbolic of feelings, emotions, connections, relationships. So as we survey our emotional landscape, we sense what we want and what we need. Our connections help bring us that.

When we observe the patterns of the water around us, what do we see? Are we fishing in water that will nourish us? It wasn't a heron that made up the song about the one that got away!

Follow your wisdom, your self determination, you know what is best for you, so once you gather enough data, move swiftly and certainly to achieve your goals. The heron at times has to wait a while, at other times, only moments.

Dive into your feelings and see what is true for you. What do we need to change? What do we need to do? Do not get bogged down in details or be led astray on tangents. Herons do not mistake a leaf or a twig floating in the water for a fish. They can tell the difference in the movements. How good are we at discerning the difference in movements? When we are fully conscious, that is exactly when our psychic abilities become more fluid.

Watching and listening, inhaling the fragrance of our surroundings, tasting our emotions, tasting our food, tasting what we are inhaling, what we are thinking, combining thoughts and feelings into actions.

Herons are independent and self reliant. Herons can see in the dark as well as the light. Do your perceptions work well both in light and dark? Do you dive into the watery depths of your feelings to discover your spiritual essence? Is your hunt feeding you?

The heron represents our opportunity to progress and evolve. Give yourself a little quiet time every day to work through thoughts, ideas, insights, inspirations, get in touch with your intuition. Then move in the way that you are guided. Notice how you feel about the choices facing you. Follow your feelings. Notice where they align with your thoughts. Your spirit guides will give you a sign. When you follow through, you will be successful, just like the heron catching the fish.

Do you take wing on the magnificence of your own human spirit? When you spread your wings, do you sail off into greater heights? Are you aligned with spirit so that you can make a direct line to your goals? Are you ready to stretch your wings and enjoy feeling the wind carry you?

I always love hearing from you, so if you feel like sending me a note, calling or coming to see me, please do!

Have a wonderful day!

Journaling for Juice

Journaling for Juice
What you see here is a stack of old journals that are headed for burning. Some of you might think this is odd, but I see my journals as gratitude journals that reflect my feelings each day. Writing in them helps keep my vision clear and is a perfect place to express whatever is on my mind. So journaling serves a purpose every day, but I have no desire to re-read them, and there is no point in saving them. I know that there are some people who keep every journal they have ever written, but that is not for me. How do you see yours?

Journaling is a great method for staying focused. Each day, I thank my spirit guides for what they have done and what they are in the process of helping me do. I write down things I am making decisions about. Writing about things I want to do more of, writing about long term changes that will begin now in order to be done later. As an every day process that helps keep me focused. The same journal can be used for all kinds of notes, inspirations, dream recall, observations, notes to myself. I only keep one journal for all purposes. And I use whatever kind of notebooks are on sale. People who keep theirs buy the same kind all the time so that they line up on shelves.

You see, journaling helps us engage our consciousness at a higher level. By focusing on what we are working on right now, what we desire right now, what plans we are making right now, we are giving energy to those things. We are sharpening our focus on achieving our goals. When we are reflecting on how we feel about certain choices we are making, how do we feel when we write it? When we consider our options, which one feels best? Note where we feel that gut instinct giving us a Yes.

Journaling is simple, yet powerful. As it becomes a daily habit, we see ourselves doing better at achieving goals. For me, writing them down continues the process of making goals clearer. Journaling gives me juice. Energy. Focus. Power.

Expressing our vision by repeating and sharpening it as we write it out, we get more power to achieve our goals. Day by day, we get new insights, new ideas, and these can be powerful motivators in changing our life. I always think of myself as having a private conversation with myself and my spirit guides, and the clearer I express my desires in writing, the sooner my spirit guides know how to help me. Journaling is a tool for keeping ourselves on track focusing on goals and teaching ourselves important lessons.

Then once I have incorporated the lessons and changes from my notes, the notebooks have served their purpose. Burning or shredding old notebooks is a way of opening and closing different chapters and experiments.

I always love hearing from you, so if you feel like sending me a note, calling or coming to see me, please do!

Have a wonderful day!

Try this at home: Journaling, a better way of catching lightning in a bottle

While out walking today, I just stopped to smell the lilacs and took the picture above. I have always loved their fragrance, and I always wish they would last longer. So many flowers bloom for just a short time so appreciate them fully while they are here. Especially the fragrant ones.

Have you noticed how some of the people who were in our life at some point bloomed for a short while and then they were gone? Maybe some conveyed an important lesson to us while they were blooming in our presence. And then they moved on, and we moved on, having gained a valuable lesson from that person.

Notice which things may be a sign or a message for you from spirit. What message might come to you if you stopped to smell the lilacs?

As you use a journal to jot down your thoughts and feelings every day, you will find that spirit is guiding you, and all you need to do to pick up the message is to notice what is around you, what you see, what you hear, what you smell, what you touch, what you sense in other ways. What can be a symbol or sign for us? Anything can bring us the message.

Take walks. Journal. All you need is a notebook and pen. Simple tools. Simple tools are powerful tools.

Where does your gut feeling align with your mind? When do you notice that your thoughts and feelings are really aligned? At that moment, spirit is giving you the message than you are on track for success.

Think about it. When you are presenting a new idea to people and you keep getting yes as an answer, spirit is helping you. When you clarify the way you state your goals or visions, do you keep getting yes?

Being aware of our surroundings and the shifts of energies, plus signs from spirit make your journal a place to catch lightning in a bottle.

Every time we say "I never thought of it that way before" or "I never looked at it that way before" or "I didn't know that" lightning is going off in our head. When that happens, we are becoming enlightened, and our new way of seeing and thinking replaces our old way of seeing and thinking.

Anything can go in your journal. As you make this a daily habit, you can observe your own lightning strikes.

Bending toward the light

Bending toward the light
Walking meditation is a simple way to open up to spirit for guidance. What I mean by that is simple. We just look at what is around us, listen to the sounds we perceive and keep an open mind. No headphones, no making phone calls or texting. Just walking, looking and listening.

I took this picture while taking a walk in a park. The tree bending toward the lamp just struck me as iconic. Plants bend toward the light and what a crazy whimsical image of a tree bending toward an electric light. Since the leaves have not come back yet, the direction and shape of the tree's branches are all the clearer.

So what does that mean for us? We also bend toward the light. How so? What lights up your life? What do you want to know more about? What light are we moving toward?

Let's do a little walking meditation with our observation of our own space for a moment.

What are the things that we have around us that we use all the time? What things are just taking up space? Why not make more space by letting go of those things we don't use? That gives us more space for what we really love. Or maybe it just gives us more space.

When we look at the books on our shelves, which ones do we refer to all the time? Which ones contain information that we want to study but just have not found the time to read yet? Which ones are stories that we really want to read? You see, what we want to know is the light we are bending toward.

See, the truth is also revealed that what we have never gotten around to reading for years, we may never, so let go. It's place can be taken by something that inspires us now, something we will read and use right away.

When you look back over your life, do you see an alignment between the things you have done that you loved, and what you plan to do more of?

When you look over your proudest achievements do you ever feel pulled to do more that would inspire those same feelings again?

When you recall the best teachers you have had in your life, and you remember how your life changed because of them, has that inspired thoughts about how engaging the services of another teacher who can give you that burst of light again?

Do your dreams and goals reflect your current desires? The light this time is the light within, the fire in the belly. Our fire bends us in the direction of our greatest desire. So knowing that we all bend toward the light, how do we feel about the way we are going? What inspires us? That changes from time to time, so we make revisions to align with our new inspiration.

Whenever we are ardently pursuing a goal, we are bending toward the light. Notice how you hit that sweet spot when you are really on track, and with every confirmation, you can feel it, you can feel that you are making real progress on your goal.

I always love hearing from you, so if you feel like sending me a note, calling or coming to see me, please do!

Have a wonderful day!

Lightening Up for Spring

Lightening up for Spring
I got the Moderna vaccine so that our numbers can add up to where people feel good opening up again. My spirit guides helped me stay free of covid all year, and I am looking forward to all of our rules lightening up or disappearing. I want to be able to go to the Renaissance Fair again without a mask, to go to concerts and shows without a mask, to go dancing without a mask, to go to baseball games without a mask, go to the gym without a mask and do expos and events without a mask. We are all looking forward to that, so if getting the vaccine makes everyone more comfortable getting back to that, so be it. I did my part.

It is good that we are starting to feel things opening up again. At least part way back is progress toward our goals.

At first I had doubts about the vax because it was developed so rapidly. When I asked my doctor about this his response was that technology has made it possible to develop vaccines faster than before and he has confidence in it.

I was never an anti-vaxxer. When I was a kid, my parents got us all the shots, and when my kids were young, I got them their shots. I am old enough to remember when kids got polio, and then after the vax got around, no more people were getting polio. We also do not have some of the other illnesses of our not so distant ancestors, like smallpox, scarlet fever, mumps and measles. I have had tetanus shots too.

I know that others have a different opinion, and this is not to argue about it. I am simply letting you know what I did because some people are more comfortable hiring someone who is vaxxed.

Which brings up a related item. All my life, I have been drinking tap water and will continue to do so. I trust our water departments to do that job for us. I know that many people have a different opinion, and that's fine. One of my uncles had a ranch with no running water, so that meant using an outhouse. And that meant getting water from a well that required some pumping and carrying buckets uphill. Indoor plumbing is much nicer, thank you.

This year, I have been buying bottled water for all of you who come to see me at my home office to be more hygienic at this time. At events, I usually bring a refillable container, but many public places have turned off their fountains where I normally would refill, so I am bringing bottled water with me. I will not buy bottled water forever, just until our situation changes.

I hope to see some of you at the Body Mind Spirit Expo this weekend in Colorado Springs. Details below.

I send Spring growth energy to all of you for health, happiness and prosperity!

I always love hearing from you, so if you feel like sending me a note, calling or coming to see me, please do!

Have a wonderful day!
