What About Soulmates?

When we meet someone special, we know it in our gut. We find that what we freely choose resonates powerfully with the other person. We do things that bond us together without trying to do so, because that is just the natural outcome of our choices. We feel so passionately, intimately connected to the other person that there is no question that we would do whatever we can to help that person and be with that person. Healing happens because we offer each other what we need, and we do it instinctively. We encourage each other to be the best that we can be and we enjoy seeing the other person blossom into their greatest potential. We don't have to do anything special to feel love and desire for the other person because that just comes naturally. We don't have to think about it because it just flows out of us and between us, and the energies intermingle. Getting along with the other person is not an effort, it is easy. When we start conversations, we are genuinely interested in what each other has to say. This is all way beyond simple attraction. The other person's presence resonates at a gut level. It is visceral and dynamic.

During our lifetime, we may have more than one soulmate, each of whom helps us learn one of the lessons we came here to learn. At different times in our life, we may be more open to learning than at another. At one time in our life, we might be ready for a powerful relationship, while at another juncture, we may not be ready.

Some people believe that there is only one great match for each one of us in this world. I don't think that is true. I think that there are lots of people who might be our soulmate and as we navigate our way through life, we feel that powerful connection with a person and we both consciously choose to be in the relationship.

If we believe in concepts like karma and reincarnation, then the point of that process is to let us come back and learn our important life lessons and balance the scales from past lives. Don't overlook the fact that we also get more than one opportunity to learn our lessons within one lifetime, our current lifetime.

Naturally, at Valentine's Day, this is a subject that is on lots of people's minds.

Where do you think you are with all this? Do you recognize your past or present soulmate relationships? Are you ready for another one?
