2020 is a 4 Year. What does that mean?

2020 is a 4 year in numerology. What does that mean?

The new year that begins on January 1 is a national holiday, so society wise the number 4 is a factor for all of us this year, just as 3 was the number for the year we are wrapping up.

Each person's birthday is their personal new year. So, of course, each of us has these overlapping influences. Here is how they work together.

You see, 4 is the number of foundation, the basis we have to build on. It is strength, solidity and dependability.

This is a year when we are setting and strengthening our foundations for the next phase of our life. So just like a building has 4 corners and 4 sides, people have 4 aspects, or 4 bodies that we build on, and those are mental, physical, spiritual and emotional. When we are building a home, we must make certain that the foundation is made properly so that the house will be able to be used to support us, nuture us and protect us.

Set aside time for reflection before getting busy every day. We can use this time to recall dreams, Note how we feel and what is important to do next. Begin by expressing gratitude for this day and then simply open to spiritual guidance. Just relax and ask your spirit guides if they have any advice or information that we need to know. By asking for help and guidance in this way, we keep the dialogue open between us, and we invite positive input.

In our personal reflections, what do we feel needs to be changed? Are we satisfied with the state of our 4 bodies? Which ones need to be cleared, cleaned, strengthened and rebuilt? Once we have addressed that, we can proceed more strongly with our plans. When our 4 bodies are all working well, they lift us up to the next level.

For those of you who have started new businesses in the last few years, this is the year when cash flow is stronger and getting to a new level of achievement sets the tone for the year to come. Most businesses have adjusting to do in the first couple years to get their systems in order and discover what methods work best, so in that 4 year, early errors have been corrected and cash flow is more even and increasing and reaching the next plateau. While at this plateau, we can further assess what is our next best move while the present activity continues to flow smoothly.

If you are working in a large organization and are looking forward to advancement, then what is needed is an accurate assessment of what you need to do to get to the next level.

Physically, this is a time for us to take care of any health concerns, address concerns that need attention, pay closer attention to diet and exercise practices so that we are affirming that we have made good choices and now we will work at building these changes into regular behaviors and habits. We have the power to make positive changes in how we look, feel and function.

Maybe a new form of exercise. Maybe finding someone who wants to do it with us. Physically, are we doing any kind of remodeling or rearranging in our residence in order to make the energy of our space more beautiful, useful and more attuned to the things that we want to be doing in our space?

Emotionally, have we learned our lessons from previous relationships, so that the next one can be better? Have we cut the cords with toxic people? Are we strengthening our connections with those we want to keep in our life? Have we cleared away old energy that does not support who we are and what we are doing? Are we happy to be who we are, do what we do and be connected to those closest to us?

Spiritually, how are we doing? Have we changed anything about what we feel is important to us? Are we acting in accord with our own principles and values? Do we feel that we are on track and are simply reaffirming our commitment to our path? Have we continued on the same basic path but added some new practices or perspectives to it? Is there a cause or charity that we choose to support because of our spiritual beliefs? Is there a physical activity that we will choose to do more because it we like the way it feels, and helps us be healthy? What meditations, prayers, positive thinking and rituals do we do to keep us on track?

Mentally, are there subjects that appeal to us that we would like to know more about? Are there skills we would like to add to our set? Are we looking to deepen our knowledge in areas that we already work in? Consider from both the business perspective and the personal. Are there thoughts that we can change in order to change the course of our progress? Remember, where our thoughts go, our energy goes. Negative thoughts draws negative energy. Positive thoughts draw positive energy. If sometime has come to our attention three times, that means that spirit wants us to take notice of it.

So as we celebrate our entry into the new year, are we lighting up our lives by examining every aspect and putting things in order to create and maintain a solid level of progress, where we can keep things rolling at a good pace and observe what plans we can make next and build on our foundation? If we do, the energy of 4 will help us build a solid, productive year.

We Light Each Other's Path

You see, when we consider ourselves as bits of light that help illuminate the path for others, our perspective on our journey shifts focus.

We bring light into each others lives in the form of levity and humor as well as the feeling of love that is present among good friends and family. We bring light into a gathering when we tell stories, play games and make music.

Being a healer is a very powerful and rewarding experience. I love it every time someone gets up after a session and not only do they tell you how good they feel, you can see it all over them. And then there are some who try it once and that's it. Then there are others who you definitely see getting better and turning their life around, and making important major changes after working together regularly for a while.

Then there are others whose path takes on a different destiny. Recently, I had been working with a client who had cancer. She would see me in between her chemo and radiation treatments and she told me that the reiki helped her feel much better. She had her ups and downs and the cancer and the treatments had really run her energy down. Suddenly, within the last two weeks, the cancer got worse.

She sent me a text and told me that she knew she was going to die within a few days. And when she was admitted to the hospital, she requested that I come and use the reiki to help her have a peaceful energy to assist in her transition.

I was honored to be asked. So twice I went to see her and when I was not there in person, I sent reiki energy from a distance and the person sitting with her told me that she could feel it.

The family members knew I was there to help with the energy but we did not really talk, just acknowledged each other's presence. So at the very last, it was all family, and I can tell that they felt it helped.

So the light in this case was for the end of one journey, and the beginning of another.

The peace that is felt by the person who is leaving this plane, radiates out onto all those who remain. The comforting energy then, is not just in service to one but to all concerned, and all present.

You see the lights in the photo above and they are a lot of tiny lights, aren't they? Tiny, yet in their cumulative effect, they light a large area and give it a shape. That is how our lives get lit up too, don't they? Lots of the little experiences we had along the way lights and reflects the stories along the way. Yes, we have these big AHA! moments every so often, but it is all those little lights that bring our world to life every day.

And sometimes the light that we put out may be perceived as small by one person, yet be enormous in the eyes of another. The light we put out is to help other people see.

We all experience times when there is nothing left to say, yet we feel the communication intensely. This is where the light gets in through the cracks. This is how we know we are here for each other. We light each other up every day, not just when we are surrounded by seasonal light displays.

I wish all of you a lovely holiday season full of lights and celebrations. And take an extra moment wherever you are and whatever you are doing to appreciate all those other people who light up your life. This simple act can help illuminate our path and suggest important steps we might want to take going into the new year. Gratitude and appreciation are the part of our seasonal celebrations and our every day life. Being conscious of our roles as both givers and receivers enables us to savor each moment and each person with each breath we take. Gratitude and appreciation are visible elements of our seasonal celebrations.

We Are The Gifts

We are the gifts to each other. At this time of year, this can be overlooked in the midst of all the ads for holiday shopping.

Yes, the lights are very pretty at this time of year, and let that is symbolic of how we light up each other's lives.

I see that in the smile on people's faces as we complete a session and they let me know that they feel better because of healing, ideas and insights they have received, and they look lit up going back out into the world.

We are the gifts to each other all year long, every day of our lives, with each person in our lives teaching us something, helping us when we need help, and being a friend with whom we share good times. We all choose what we will give and to who. And that is why the word gift is so appropriate.

When we choose to share time and energy with someone, those are the most previous things we have to give. When a phone, computer or car breaks, it can be troublesome and cost us a lot, but, of course, we can get another one.

On the other hand, the hour we gave to someone is something we cannot get back. Consider that for a moment.

When we choose to spend time and energy with someone, that can open the door for positive developments and the nurturing of relationships. Once we have given someone this piece of our lives, we can never get it back, so make the best of it you can. Imagine that every day we are giving gifts to each other with all the things we do. When you look at it that way, then every day becomes a gift in itself.

It always amazes me how our paths cross, even though know that spirit orchestrates all of our meetings and interactions. So think of the time we have each day as a huge bag of gifts we can give away mindfully to all those we interact with, which puts a glow on each encounter, each exchange. Every moment of every day, have opportunities to give each other gifts. Are we conscious of this? How does it change our day when we are?

How does our world look once we see each other as the greatest gifts we could possibly give or receive? Your presence is the real present.

Love & Healing

Why would any of us want to be in this business of healing? The root is pure and simple. Most of us choose this path because we want to help other people. It feels really good to the healer to hear the client express how they feel better after a session.

Healers love people and they love to help them feel better and get the insight, peace of mind, relief from pain and stress. So we use a variety of methods, such as reiki, massage, counseling, meditation, to cite a few examples, so that each person can find what works for them.

Healing means to make whole. That is the origin of the word. Love is a great way to make a person whole again. I know what you are thinking of, and yes that is true. So let me expand the concept a bit.

For some people, the healing they need is because of physical pain and rebounding from recent illness or injury. Others need healing from the stresses of everyday life. Still others need healing to help them get a clear vision of what is important and what is next for them. You know, quieting the monkey mind so that energies can flow properly. Opening the spirit to the universal connections.

When we choose from love, we always find joy because that vibration is aligned with love and healing. If we choose from love and act from love, we are making the world a better place, one person at a time and one moment at a time.

We make ourselves healthier as well as happier by choosing from love because by doing that we are working with our spirit guides to make our best choices. Remember, feelings are one of the ways our spirit guides communicate with us. With consistent efforts, we raise the vibration of our community.

You can feel it when you enter the room of a healer. The love in the atmosphere opens the way for a person to first feel some relaxation as their minds open, nerves calm, and pressures unwind. Then clarity and insight help us see how to put things back in a good way. Love helps us find the way to do that. People help other people because it is in our nature to do so. That is part of being human.

Some people help other people by fixing their computers, cars and homes. Others help by fixing hair or food.

Of course sometimes people do not see themselves in this perspective, but when we do so we open our eyes to see differently.

When we help restore a person to wholeness, then they are also experiencing, and capable of more love. And that raises the vibration of the whole of our society. There are always ripples that flow out from our community to others we touch.

Naturally, when we approach from a spiritual perspective, we get to the essence of the problem and that illuminates the approach to the solution. Energy maps the solutions out for us.

To be a healer is to be acting from that perspective all the time. Our next holiday, Thanksgiving, has always been my favorite because it is all about expressing love, appreciation and joy. What a beautiful way to spend a day. Many of us express gratitude every day when we wake up or every night when we go to bed, and what a splendid energy to share with ourselves and others. Dedicate a day to being happy and appreciative. I love it.

By the way, the picture above is my Gratitude Jar, and look how full it is! Every day, I express my gratitude for each one of you being part of my life. Gratitude is a great guide to help us stay on our path.

So I hope that all of you enjoy your Thanksgiving!

The Power of Our Undivided Attention

To be in the presence of another person is a gift. When we give them our undivided attention, we are showing our respect and appreciation for them. This is one of the ways that love becomes present in our lives every day. We make the most of every moment when we give it our undivided attention. And so it is with each day we live. It is one of the reasons why I love doing private sessions with people, to be able to give them my undivided attention, to appreciate every moment of our interaction, and to be able to know that that focus has made a difference.

When I work at parties and events, one of the things I have trained myself to do is to keep my attention focused on the person who is sitting with me, and filter out the sound and the traffic from elsewhere in the room. Some people have great difficulty doing that, so they do not work events and parties. In order to shift your focus, you must simply be able to give one hundred percent of your attention to the other person. In turn, they will engage at that level to hear what is being said. When we are able to do this, we can achieve a clearer level of communication and a better understanding between us.

Now consider focusing on every day in the same way. Each day, we get the most out of it by appreciating every moment and every thing we do. If we are working we focus on what we are doing while we are doing it. And when we are going out to do something fun, we focus our intention on being with who we are with and doing what we are doing.

I carry that same intention into my awareness of every day. There is something beautiful and special about all of the holidays during this time of year. Halloween is beautiful and special and laden with meaning as well as entertainment and so we savor the pleasure of all the joy of the costumes and pageantry and honor the spiritual aspects of this holiday, for those of us who do enjoy Day of the Dead or Samhain spiritual celebrations which are ways to honor those people who were close to us who died during the past year.

Then, as we progress into November, we are enjoying the fullness of autumn and the holiday of Thanksgiving. I have always loved this holiday because it is so pure and simple. It is about expressing appreciation and gratitude for our lives and what good things that have happened to us. That joy can also encourage us to enjoy the fresh start we may be working our way through after then end of a relationship that was not working out well or a new career change or health challenge we are navigating. How beautiful Thanksgiving is, being focused around having dinner with people we enjoy being with, the family and friends who are part of our lives. After dinner we turn our attention to games, conversation, music or other ways that we enjoy each other's company.

In the years when my work was transferring me to different cities where I had no friends or relatives, we would often organize "orphan parties" which meant that those of us who worked together and did not have family or close friends in the area would get together for a potluck dinner and social time. Those were some wonderful days too, when we all pooled our resources to make a good day of it. Instead of spending the day alone and feeling melancholy because of our situation, we got together and found a new level of communication and appreciation with those who were there. Once again, paying attention to the present moment.

That is why many of us have a visceral reaction when merchants skew the natural order of things and try to make Thanksgiving itself into just another day to have a retail sale. Or when it is Labor Day weekend or before Halloween when we are confronted with Christmas sale displays. The reaction is visceral because we sense that doing this rips away at the natural order of things. Enjoy Thanksgiving just for being Thanksgiving, and then when it is time, enjoy Christmas/Winter Solstice/Yule for what it offers us, and savor that time for what it is.

So today, give some thought to appreciating what this day has to offer and give your attention to whoever is part of this day with you. By doing so, we appreciate our own life more fully, and we appreciate those who are part of our lives more fully. By giving our full attention to whoever is with us at the moment, we bring light and clarity to each and every encounter. Celebrate the focus of each moment, and enjoy the presence of each person, and each thing we are doing and do it the best we can.

So remember that where your thoughts go, your energy goes. Are your thoughts in the present moment with you?
